About Fix or Replace
Understand the result before buying the part.
Fix or Replace is an independent appliance-help project. It helps owners organize safe checks, recognize what is still untested and prepare a useful service or parts question.
What the site offers
A washer can empty the tub and still leave wet clothes. A dishwasher can drain and then receive water from the sink. A fan can run while a microwave is not cooking. These distinctions change the next question, and they are the focus of our check-result articles.
Published model pages show their own documentation boundaries. Our wider model directory also includes manufacturer lookups; a directory entry is not a claim that we have a repair procedure for that model.
The free owner tools produce appliance-specific service notes, unresolved parts-order questions and complete-cost comparisons. They run without a login. Entries are processed in the browser and are not automatically submitted or stored by this site.
Who publishes the material
The site publishes under the name Fix or Replace. It is not affiliated with appliance brands, a manufacturer warranty channel or an emergency service. The material is documentary research and editorial analysis, not a repair engineer's certification. We do not claim a workshop, professional repair qualification, independent hands-on test or proprietary failure dataset.
AI-assisted drafting and software tools are used. The publication method explains how sources and model scope constrain the output. A photographed repair from another publisher remains that publisher's evidence; we do not present it as our own repair.
What an observation can tell you
A code or symptom can identify a route to check. It cannot establish that a pump, sensor or control board failed. Internal electrical work, microwave high-voltage circuits, gas connections and refrigerant systems remain outside ordinary owner checks. Smoke, sparking, burning or water near electrics are stop conditions.
Contact, corrections and funding
Report a factual error, unmatched model or broken source at feedback@fixreplacehelp.com. Include the guide URL and the supporting document; omit private serial numbers and addresses. Contact and corrections describes the information needed.
Advertising may support the free site after approval. Advertising does not alter a diagnostic conclusion. Paid or affiliate links, if introduced, must be labeled. We do not sell repair bookings or take payment to change a conclusion.
