LG WM4000HWA / HBA: turn off CL control lock
With the washer powered on, hold Rinse+Spin for 3 seconds. This switches Control Lock off when CL is active.
At the washer
Use this when CL is displayed. If the panel is dark or shows another code, this shortcut does not identify that problem.
- Turn the washer on.
- Keep Rinse+Spin pressed for 3 seconds, then release it.
- Check that CL clears. During a cycle, the remaining time should return.
Check the result
The controls are available again. Powering off alone does not clear Control Lock.
What do you see now?

CL disappeared, but the door is still locked
Control Lock controls the buttons; it does not release the door latch. Do not force the door. Use LG’s model support for the separate door problem.
Choose your model on LG support →CL is still there
Check that your model and button label match this page and that you held the button continuously. If a deliberate retry fails, use LG support rather than trying random button combinations.

Once CL clears, use the separate Spin Only instructions.

We checked the documents below. We have not tested these steps on a physical washer.
