Midea Duo · U.S. parts lookup

Midea Duo drain plug or cap missing? Match the right part

The drain cover and stopper have separate part numbers. Match the full model and drawing reference before ordering. The base-drain stopper also needs a separate check: the three model catalogs do not give the same answer.

For MAP12S1TBL, MAP14S1TBL, MAP14HS1TBL. This guide does not cover suffix variants such as MAP14S1TBL-A or MAP14HS1TBLA.

Which piece is missing?

Switch off and unplug before inspecting the outside of the unit. Do not remove cabinet panels. Do not touch the unit or plug if water is near electrical parts.

  1. Read the complete model label. A listing that only says “Duo” or “14,000 BTU” is not an exact match.
  2. Find the outlet in the manual’s rear-view drawing, page 8. The Dry outlet, Heat outlet and bottom-tray drain serve different jobs.
  3. Use the model notes below and on-page comparison to check the reference. If the supplier site opens for you, compare its drawing and part photo too.

If both a cover and a plug are missing, ask whether each must be ordered separately. A product named “drain plug” does not establish that a cover is included.

Have the parts, but the hose stays dry? Check for a separate stopper and the correct hose route before buying a replacement.

Three catalog entries to distinguish

The numbers below come from the model catalogs. Drawing references identify pieces in the exploded view; they are not outlet names.

Drawing reference 25

Drain-connector cover

12120600A00839

The round outer cap. Listed for all three models below.

Drawing reference 24

Drain stopper

12600801000048

A plug, listed separately from the cover. All three model lists include this number.

Drawing reference 12.1.1 on the MAP12S1TBL drawing

Base-drain stopper

12600801000036

A different plug. Read the model notes below before using this number.

These are individual catalog entries, not a three-piece kit. A photo can help distinguish the pieces; appearance alone does not confirm fit.

Check the base-drain plug for your model

All three catalogs list cover 12120600A00839 at reference 25 and stopper 12600801000048 at 24. The base-drain entries need these separate notes:

MAP12S1TBL

The parts list and drawing both identify the base-drain stopper at 12.1.1. The listed number is 12600801000036.

Original catalog and drawing (external; may be blocked)

MAP14S1TBL

The model list places 12600801000036 at 12.1.1, and the supplier’s part record includes MAP14S1TBL among compatible models. The linked drawing labels a small base component 12.6 instead. Model association is supported; the exact outlet and drawing reference still need confirmation before ordering.

MAP14HS1TBL

The checked model list does not list 12600801000036, and that part’s compatible-model list does not name MAP14HS1TBL. The heat model also has a different chassis subassembly number. This does not prove the plug cannot fit; ask for the part for this exact model and outlet.

What the catalogs establish — and what they do not

Checked September 29, 2026. The part record’s “Compatible Models” list and the model parts list answer whether a number is associated with a model. They do not identify which visible outlet on your unit it seals. Source links in the table open Encompass and may be blocked; the findings are recorded here.

On a phone, swipe the table sideways to read all four columns.

MAP12S1TBL12600801000036 at 12.1.1 in the model list. The checked drawing also labels the base stopper 12.1.1.Match the outlet and full model label; confirm package contents.
MAP14S1TBLModel list places 12600801000036 at 12.1.1. The part record names MAP14S1TBL as compatible. The linked exploded drawing instead marks a small base component 12.6. The two references have not been reconciled.Supplier compatibility supports the model, but ask which numbered part seals your photographed bottom outlet.
MAP14HS1TBLThe checked list does not include 12600801000036; the part record’s compatible-model list does not name this heat model.Chassis subassembly 12120600006345 differs from the cooling-only MAP14S1TBL’s 12120600009523. The heat list adds a water pump at 12.1.2.Do not copy the cooling model’s base-plug number. Ask Midea or Encompass for the exact part and any serial-specific revision.

Limits: An omitted model is not proof of physical incompatibility. The part listing does not resolve the MAP14S1TBL drawing’s 12.6 label or identify an orderable base plug for MAP14HS1TBL. No physical fit was tested.

Exact-model catalog comparison

Same P1 code, different parts records

The three Duo catalogs share a hose number, but the heat model adds a hose joint and a water-pump listing. Use this comparison to check a proposed part, not to diagnose a failed component.

On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see all three models.

  • Drain hose: Listed in all three catalogs. Match the outlet and supplied accessories before ordering.
  • Drain hose joint: Listed for the heat model. Its listing does not establish fit on the two cooling-only models.
  • Water pump: Internal service part, not an owner replacement step. P1 alone is not a pump diagnosis.
  • Water-level switch: The heat-model catalog also lists 17400511001144 at 12.4. Ask for serial-specific confirmation; the shared reference does not prove interchangeability.

Not listed does not mean not fitted. A catalog can omit an item or cover multiple revisions. These records do not establish the cause of a warning or authorize a substitution.

The manual’s page 18 assigns pumped drainage to Heat operation. Do not apply that allowance to the upper gravity outlet. Catalog comparison by Fix or Replace; no physical fit testing.

Before you order

Match the full model, the outlet you photographed and the part record. Check what the package contains, current availability and return terms with the supplier.

If the drawing differs from your unit, or the needed part is not listed, send Midea or Encompass your full model, serial range if requested, an outlet photo and the candidate part number. For MAP14S1TBL, ask whether 12600801000036 is the part at drawing reference 12.6 or whether 12.6 is another piece. For MAP14HS1TBL, ask for the bottom-drain plug number. Do not substitute a similar-looking stopper or seal the outlet with glue.

A missing plug needs replacing, but a replacement does not establish why P1 was returning. If you can close the drain correctly, follow the Duo P1 drainage steps. If the warning returns, use the service notes checklist.

Sources and scope

The Encompass catalog and drawing links above may reject some browsers or regions. The part numbers, drawing references and model differences needed for this guide are on this page. We cannot make the supplier open in your browser. If its records are inaccessible, give Midea U.S. Support your exact model, outlet photo and the candidate numbers shown here; ask them to confirm the part and package contents.

Midea Duo manual, version F - 05 - 2022 (PREVIEW01), pages 8 and 17–19, identifies the outlets and drainage procedures.

Drawings and part photos were compared on September 27, 2026; model lists, the part’s compatible-model list and chassis numbers were rechecked on September 29, 2026. We have not installed or tested these parts. The MAP14S1TBL drawing discrepancy and the unlisted MAP14HS1TBL base plug remain unresolved.
